Brazilian beauty, Gisele Bündchen, is on the cover of Vogue Paris Magazine this month, and in a somewhat atypical approach, the cover has taken on a very beachy and casual vibe. Gisele is there topless baring a very sandy bottom. Check out Gisele’s almost “non-styled” photo shoot for Vogue. I love this photo because it [...]

E L James' next two books include another erotica tale and a YA paranormal novel.
By Fallon Prinzivalli

America's new favorite erotica author is making the switch to the young adult genre. "Fifty Shades of Grey" — originally penned as "Twilight" fan fiction — follows the sadomasochistic affair of a handsome, business tycoon named Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, the college graduate he seduces. But with a whole trilogy under her belt telling the couple's erotic tales — the sequels entitled "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" — author E L James is setting her sights on new stories.

The author told USA Today that she has two more novels stashed up her sleeve. One is another sensual tale in the vein of "Fifty Shades" and the second is a young adult paranormal novel.

"I've got several more good ideas, but how do you follow this?" she told USA Today of "Fifty Shades." "I've set the bar quite high in terms of storytelling."

The rights to the book were optioned by Universal Pictures and Focus Features, sparking a frenzy surrounding what daring actors would take on the titillating characters. Ian Somerhalder and Alexander Skarsgård both expressed interest in the film adaptation, and when Kristen Stewart was asked if she would read the book, she exclaimed, "Hell yeah!" But right now the big question is whether it's possible for the movie to be granted an R rating when it's clearly NC-17-level material.

"Making this movie will absolutely be a challenge. It is going to take a devoted director who admittedly likes the books and understands that, first and foremost, this is a love story," Lisa Parker from FiftyShadesFilm.com told MTV News. "If telling the love story is the main focus, then we do believe the steamy sex scenes can be shot and edited in a way to get us an R-rated movie rather than NC-17...[the fans] are confident that Ms. James will protect the integrity of her story regardless of the ultimate rating."

Above the Buzz examines how these former pop princesses serve as examples of how stars can re-brand themselves again and again.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>Both <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/simpson_jessica/artist.jhtml">Jessica Simpson</a> dominated headlines this week. Not since the late '90s have these two duked it out for so much media coverage.</P><P>However there's a remarkable difference in what's happening today to what was happening then: Then, everyone was talking about their music and their pop star personas. Where Britney was a Lolita who proclaimed virginity while dancing provocatively in belly-baring tops, Jessica was innocent and sweet and didn't dare anger her minister daddy. Jessica released songs that put her big voice on display, and Brit focused on songs that put eyes on her dazzling dance moves and her ear for dance beats.</P><P>A lot has changes in the years since then. What's interesting is that, despite their seemingly different personalities, in retrospect, they have a lot more in common than was initially apparent: They are both down-home country girls who have built empires that few can touch. Both have had very public career highs met with very public personal lows. Both have loved <a href="/news/articles/1683993/boy-band-allegiances.jhtml">boy banders.</a> Both have even documented their lives on reality shows, albeit with very different outcomes.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="'We All Are Authentic'" id="vid:493178.id:1633959" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>With almost 15 years separating the women they are now from those girls they were then, it seems they are looking to change it up.</P><P>At a time where the pop world is filled with plenty of younger pop princesses looking for their time to shine, Britney and Jessica seem comfortable enough with their own musical legacies to let them all have their moments. And, they should be at ease. They have both been incredibly successful in that world, having sold millions of albums, had huge radio singles and made music that is uniquely their own. And while Simpson has let her music take a back seat to other projects in the past few years, Spears is still a working singer who sells out tours and tops the charts.</P><P>These days, Jessica seems focused on maintaining the post-pop star second act she launched several years back. She's a fashion mogul with a billion-dollar empire that has outfitted fashionistas with reasonably priced essentials like platforms and bags. She also judges up-and-coming fashion talent on NBC's "Fashion Star," sharing with new designers her own wisdom on breaking into the industry. But, always savvy enough to keep people guessing, she's expanded her brand even further.</P><P>Now, she is also the latest <a href="/news/articles/1684326/jessica-simpson-baby-beyonce.jhtml">mommy mogul</a>. Jessica just added another gig to her post-pop star career &#8212; that of the A-list mom. Just this week, she welcomed her first child, <a href="/news/articles/1684216/jessica-simpson-baby-girl-maxwell-drew-johnson.jhtml">Maxwell Drew</a>, into the world. We expect she'll use that experience to re-launch herself yet again. We should expect fashion lines for stylish toddlers. And who wouldn't want to see a reality show that follows the new mom and her family?</P><P>It seems that, like Simpson, Spears might be looking to take a break from music for a moment. Having already given birth to two sons and tried her hand at the worlds of fashion and beauty, Spears is now a frontrunner to <a href="/news/articles/1684320/x-factor-judges-miley-cyrus-britney-spears.jhtml">judge "X Factor."</a> Her own experiences in the industry certainly make her the perfect candidate to give advice on the ups and downs of pop superstardom. She's experienced both with the entire world watching. While Spears' other projects (clothing line, fragrances) have generally been overshadowed by her music career, this rumored gig might be the first one to take the attention away from her pop fame while using it for all it's worth.</P><P>Spears is probably up for the gig because she is basically the heir to the <a href="/news/articles/1681693/madonna-above-the-buzz-pop-queen.jhtml">Madonna legacy</a>. She truly understands how to be a pop star. And the rumors that she might join Simon Cowell on the show seem to be intriguing Spears' critics and non-devotees more than anything she's done in the past few years. Spears might have found her perfect next chapter.</P><P>Right now, it's unclear how these new career paths will shape the future for Simpson and Spears &#8212; musically and otherwise. But, as has always been the case for them, no one doubts they will redefine what it means to be a female pop star. They are women who aren't willing to go quietly into the night. For Spears and Simpson, it seems they want it all or nothing. And, who can blame them?</P><P><i>What would you like to see Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson do next? Share your thoughts below!</i></P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Hits The Studio With will.i.am" id="vid:638813.id:1661123" width="415" height="255"></div><p></p>

Seoul, South Korea, set list heavy on new material, but Gaga's biggest hits come out to play.
By John Mitchell

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> kicked off her hotly awaited <i>Born This Way</i> Ball at Seoul, South Korea's Olympic Stadium on Friday (April 27) in front of 45,000 fans, and despite <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-17867102" target="_blank">protests</a> from Christian groups saying Mother Monster was "obscene" and could "taint" young people with her performance, the concert appears to have gone on without incident.</P><P>Intrepid Twitter fans are already showing off pictures and video of the <i>BTW</i> Ball's enormous Gothic castle backdrop and myriad costume changes, making it clear that Gaga has outdone even her own Monster Ball in terms of spectacle.</P><P>While we wait for reviews to trickle in from halfway around the world, one thing is certain: No minors were corrupted at the show. Earlier this month, the Korea Media Rating Board decided to <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/04/02/lady-gaga-unfazed-by-south-korean-concert-age-restrictions/">elevate the age rating</a> for the concert from 12 to 18, prohibiting minors from seeing the concert. When the board notified Gaga's tour promotion company and a sponsor of the change in age restrictions, it did not offer a reason why the show &#8212; which at the time was still in rehearsals and had not been reviewed publicly &#8212; was considered unsuitable for children under 18.</P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:717952/cp~vid%3D717952%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A717952" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER></P><P>The likely catalyst for the board's decision came more into focus as the concert neared and protests from a group of conservative Christians calling itself the Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality ramped up. The group <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-57419977-10391698/lady-gagas-born-this-way-ball-met-by-protests-in-south-korea/" target="_blank">covered Seoul with posters</a> accusing Gaga of "spreading unhealthy sexual culture" through "lewd lyrics and performances."</P><P>The superstar and her fans, however, were undeterred. Though she <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/186886867118080000" target="_blank">tweeted</a> her hopes that the Korea Media Rating Board would reverse its decision (it didn't), she continued on as planned. Many fans reportedly arrived at the show wearing versions of Gaga's most well-known flamboyant costumes, and there have been no reports of disturbances at the concert.</P><P>Before the show, Gaga <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/195815732494348288" target="_blank">tweeted</a>, "I can you hear you Korea. I'm shaking."</P><P>Gaga's performance was heavy on material from her <i>Born this Way</i> album, though her biggest hits, including "Bad Romance," Poker Face" and "Just Dance," were represented.</P><P>Lady Gaga's <i>Born This Way</i> Ball set list:</P><P><b>&#187;</b> "Highway Unicorn" <br> <b>&#187;</b> "Government Hooker"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Born This Way"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Bloody Mary"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Bad Romance"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Fashion of His Love"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "The Queen"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Just Dance"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Love Game"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Telephone"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Just Dance"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Heavy Metal Lover"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Bad Kids"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Hair"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Yo&#252; and I"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Electric Chapel"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Americano"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Poker Face"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Schei&#223;e"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "The Edge of Glory"<br> <b>&#187;</b> "Marry the Night"</P><P><i>Did you see Lady Gaga's </i>Born This Way<i> Ball? Islamic hard-liners worry that sexy clothes and dancing will corrupt youth.
By Gil Kaufman

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> lives to provoke and push the envelope. But not everyone is up for her antics. The "Americano" singer has been forced to cancel her sold-out June 3 "Born This Way Ball" show at the 52,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia after Islamic hard-liners and conservative lawmakers said her sexy costumes, suggestive dance moves and "vulgar" style could corrupt the nation's youth.</P><P>According to the <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/lady-gaga-cancel-indonesia-concert-093021436.html" target="_blank"><I>Associated Press</I></a>, a spokesperson for the national police said on Tuesday (May 15) that the permit for the show has been denied after religious conservatives worried that the concert could undermine the nation's moral fiber. Some of the critics actually threatened to use physical force to prevent Gaga from getting off her plane. Though Indonesia is a secular state, it has the world's largest population of Muslims and a small extremist fringe of religious leaders has been more vocal in recent years.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lady Gaga Will Bring a 'Personal' Touch To 'Born This Way' Tour" id="vid:717952" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"She's a vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil's child and that she will spread satanic teaching," said Salim Alatas, the Jakarta head of hardline Islamic Defender Front (FPI), according to <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/15/entertainment-us-indonesia-gaga-idUSBRE84E0HQ20120515" target="_blank"><I>Reuters</I></a>. "This is dangerous."</P><P>Local police worried that they might not be able to guarantee security at the show and suggested to national police that the permit for what was to be Gaga's biggest gig on her current Asian tour be pulled. Every seat at the Karno stadium had been sold, with half of them going in the first two hours.</P><P>The <I>AP</I> reported that permits for shows are typically issued three weeks before concerts in Jakarta, so it is not uncommon for tickets to be sold well ahead of receiving a final permit. Gaga's Asian tour started last month and the Indonesian flap is not the first bump she's faced along the road. Gigs in <a href="/news/articles/1684062/lady-gaga-born-this-way-ball-seoul.jhtml">South Korea</a>&#8232; were 18-and-over because conservatives in that country also raised objections over the concert's content.</P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1617615"><img src="http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/s/spotted/banner/spotted.jpg"></a></p>

During band's rehearsal break for Sunday's Movie Awards, we put Foos to the test.
By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Jim Cantiello

<P><b>UNIVERSAL CITY, California</b> &#8212; Hard rock, heavy metal, hardcore and punk have long gone hand-in-hand with evil wizards, magic, vampires and werewolves. And with a collective sub-cultural pedigree that includes stints in the Germs, No Use for a Name, Sunny Day Real Estate, Scream and some band called Nirvana, you'd think the <a href="/music/artist/foo_fighters/artist.jhtml">Foo Fighters</a> &#8212; set to perform at Sunday's <a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/movieawards/2011/">Movie Awards</a> &#8212; would know their "Potter" from their Zeppelin. Before we put MTV News' magically crafted trivia to the band, it seemed safe to assume the Foos would accurately distinguish between the words of Harry Potter, a "Twilight" character and Led Zeppelin. But was their underground nerd cred blown to shreds? Can I make your garden grow?"</P><P><b>&#187;</b> "You're lying, Dolores! You mustn't tell lies!"</P><P>Can you guess whether the lines above came from the "Potter" flicks, "Twilight" or Robert Plant?</P><P>Watch as the Foos try their best to do exactly that. Show will air live from Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The MTV Video Music Awards are moving to the home of the Lakers: Staples Center in Los Angeles.

That's right. On Thursday, September 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the 2012 VMAs will take over Staples for the first time, making the big show even bigger — if that's possible. The epicenter of the L.A. sports and entertainment universe is just the latest iconic venue the VMAs have called home, joining a list that includes New York's Radio City Music Hall, the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and American Airlines Arena in Miami.

It's fitting the 2012 VMAs are moving to Staples; after all, they'll need a big house to match the big-time impact of last year's show, which scored MTV's biggest audience in the network's history with a record-breaking 12.4 million viewers and were also the most tweeted-about awards show ever — no doubt fueled by Lady Gaga's Jo Calderone and, of course, Beyoncé's famous onstage reveal of her baby bump.

But before you get too excited for the VMAs, don't forget the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, airing live Sunday, June 3, from Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Russell Brand — a two-time VMA host — has been tapped to helm this year's Movie Awards.

The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Stay tuned for more info on the big show, including how you can vote for your favorite artists!

William Levy and Maria Menounos tie for top of leaderboard Monday night, earning nearly perfect scores.

Looks like the right couples made it to the final four on ABC's hit show "Dancing With the Stars." For the most part, the remaining celebrities all ran neck-and-neck in their scores from the judging panel.

Monday night, they were tasked with two dances, and considering that everyone scored at least one 10 for their performances, the judges were pleased with how things worked out. It was a tie for the top of the leaderboard, with both William Levy and Maria Menounos earning nearly perfect scores.

Here's how it all shook down:

William Levy and Cheryl Burke
The Latin heartthrob and soap star took on the tango for his first dance. For his second performance, he danced the samba. The judges found his first performance a bit flatfooted, but it didn't stop them from scoring him with two 9's and a 10. In the second performance, head judge Len Goodman said,"Talk about the hunk with the junk in his trunks!" He earned a perfect trio of 10's. 59/60

Maria Menounos and Derek Hough
The TV journalist danced the Argentine tango in her first time out on the ballroom floor, and the judges raved, rewarding her with 10's across the board. Judge Bruno Tonioli called her routine "titillating beyond my wildest dreams!" For her second performance, she danced the jive, and the judges pretty much crowned her the winner of the night, saying that even though it wasn't traditional, it worked quite well. 59/60

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd
The NFL star danced the waltz and impressed the judges with what they called a dreamy rendition of the ballroom dance. Goodman said it was "absolutely charming," a score from the hard-to-please judge. His next dance was the samba, which earned him two perfect paddle scores from judges. 57/60

Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas
The opera singer challenged herself with the quickstep, and judges could hardly contain themselves with how much they loved it. Tonioli was a bit more animated than usual, shouting out "Outstanding!" when it was his turn to speak. Jenkins' second dance was a salsa, and the judges noted she made a few missteps. That said, the judges were still impressed with her moves. Carrie Ann Inaba told her it was "like you hung out with Beyoncé over the weekend." 56/60

Rap rookie Tito Lopez will also join Sway at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com.

It's time to roll out the royal carpet, because the King is set to make his debut on "RapFix Live." On Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, T.I. will sit down with Sway Calloway and chop it up about his upcoming album, Trouble Man.

Tip has a grind like no other. Since being released from prison last fall, the Atlanta rapper landed a VH1 reality series with his wife, Tiny, added some new muscle to his Grand Hustle record label, and immediately began recording for his eighth solo album. The street-bred MC, who popularized the term Trap Music, has long promised a return to the T.I. of old.

"We got a lot of hot, old-school, vintage T.I. records on there," he told MTV News during a January interview. "I'm talking like gutter, gangsta, intellectual ignorance, hard-core stadium sh--, but at the same time, we got those over-the-top crossover records as well, big features and whatnot we plan on putting into play."

The fiery lyricist isn't only concerned with his own music: Earlier this month, protégé B.o.B released his sophomore LP, Strange Clouds, and T.I. has spent a ton of time working with his newest signee Iggy Azalea. There will be no shortage of topics to address when Tip hits the red couch.

In addition to the King, "RapFix" will also be welcoming Mississippi rap rookie Tito Lopez to the show. Lopez who has drawn praise from Dr. Dre and was recently signed to Capitol Records has been building a healthy buzz lately. His latest single, "Mama Proud," features both a positive message and new-age lyricism over a soulful beat. You're not going to want to miss this!

Don't miss "RapFix Live," this week featuring T.I. and Tito Lopez, Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. Be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists @MTVRapFix!
